Overview

SSOE is seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Engineer with experience leading an engineering design team from preliminary engineering through construction. Responsibilities include developing engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection, preparing specifications, and coordinating with multi-discipline teams to deliver design and construction outputs.

Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

  • Leading engineering studies, writing reports, and completing calculations.
  • Designing plant installations and preparing specifications for major equipment like boilers, turbines, and pumps.
  • Leading design teams, working with PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Preparing bid packages and overseeing equipment procurement.
  • Delivering quality work on schedule and within budget.
  • Representing the firm in meetings and project planning.
  • Managing medium to large projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Overseeing material and equipment quality and field installations.
  • Defining project scope and organizing tasks.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional education and business development activities.
  • Interacting with clients to define scope and ensure satisfaction.
  • Supporting field work as needed and traveling when required.
Qualifications

Required on Day One:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (professional licensure qualifies).
  • PE license or PE-track, with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in the A/E industry.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes B31.1 & B31.3; experience with Caesar II software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license (waived for international roles).
  • Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000/year, depending on experience and certifications.
