Job description

At Vessel, we are committed to addressing one of the world’s most pressing challenges—the global housing crisis. In 2024, we introduced the V1, a revolutionary solution that redefines affordable living. Beautifully designed, brilliantly engineered, sustainable, and built with health in mind, the V1 makes high-quality housing accessible to those who earn too much for subsidized housing but too little for market-rate options. We are backed by leading venture capitalists, such as Mosaic Ventures, and by the nation's preeminent homebuilder, Lennar, Inc.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing our next-generation housing platform. You’ll work at the cutting edge of product design, advanced manufacturing, and building technology, applying your expertise to create elegant, high-performance solutions that redefine what’s possible in the built environment.

What You'll Do
  1. Engineer solutions that are precise, scalable, and manufacturable, pushing the limits of what’s possible in building technology
  2. Apply thermal, structural, and mechanical design expertise to create systems that are both powerful and efficient
  3. Work hands-on with prototyping, testing, and validation, ensuring performance, durability, and safety at every stage
  4. Collaborate with industrial designers, architects, and manufacturing experts to integrate engineering with form and function seamlessly
  5. Explore and implement cutting-edge materials and production methods, from aerospace-inspired composites to next-gen fabrication techniques
Who You Are
  1. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a track record of launching real, physical products into production
  2. A deep passion for innovation and a drive to create systems that are as smart and elegant as they are functional
  3. Strong expertise in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent), FEA analysis, and mechanical simulation
  4. Experience with thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics, applying engineering fundamentals to solve complex problems
  5. A background in high-performance product development—whether in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or other advanced industries
  6. Knowledge of scalable manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, injection molding, and precision fabrication
  7. A relentless pursuit of excellence, with the ability to challenge conventional wisdom and push boundaries
Benefits
  1. Bonus Eligible
  2. Health Plans (Medical, Dental, and Vision), including HSA/FSA options
  3. Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance, plus Critical Illness and Accident Insurance
  4. Adoption Assistance, Caregiver Support, and Financial Assistance through Employee Support Programs
  5. Team-building events and activities, including social hours and celebrations
  6. Commuter Benefits
$100,000 - $140,000 a year

At Vessel, you’ll be part of something bigger than a company—you’ll be part of a movement. If you’re looking for a role that’s both challenging and rewarding, with the opportunity to work alongside a visionary leader in a transformative industry, we’d love to hear from you.
