Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, testing, and documentation of complex, high-precision capital equipment used in advanced manufacturing environments. This role involves developing innovative mechanical designs, validating product performance, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for precision equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new product concepts and design improvements.
- Develop engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design packages.
- Create test plans and perform design validation and verification activities.
- Support fabrication, assembly, and testing efforts while providing technical guidance as needed.
- Communicate design intent, technical solutions, and project updates with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong mechanical design experience using 3D CAD software such as NX, Creo (Pro/ENGINEER), or SolidWorks.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the semiconductor or other high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of electrical enclosure or power distribution component design.
- Experience with thermal management solutions, including heat sinks, fans, heat exchangers, cold plates, heaters, and temperature sensors.
Familiarity with:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations
- Tolerance stack-up analysis
- Material selection and machining considerations for aluminum, plastics, ceramics, and quartz
- Failure mode analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Statistical data analysis and technical reporting
