Advantage Technical is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for a temporary contract-to-hire role in Tampa, FL. You will design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, producing 3D CAD models and detailed drawings while applying DFM principles.

You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver manufacturable solutions through production and installation. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mechanical design, proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience.
• SolidWorks experience required; familiarity with 3D CAD workflows.
• Experience with machining, welding and sheet metal fabrication.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; security clearance eligibility.

Mechanical Engineer | Immediate Opportunity

$36.00 - $40.00 per hour

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing support? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team on a temporary contract-to-hire basis, supporting the design and development of mechanical systems, structures, assemblies, and fabricated components.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to create practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy taking projects from concept through production and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, structures, and systems
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and mechanical engineering best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering design changes
• Assist with project planning, technical reviews, and customer requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Strong knowledge of machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes
• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and mechanical assemblies
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
• Must be eligible to obtain security clearance
• Available to start within 2 weeks

• AutoCAD, FEA, prototype development, and production support
• Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, automation, robotics, or related industries
