Pay Rate: $95-97/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design activities from concept through production, performing engineering analyses, supporting product validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in precision mechanical design, vacuum systems, high-voltage mechanical assemblies, and product development within a high-technology or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Own mechanical designs throughout the product development lifecycle, including concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product documentation.
• Perform engineering analyses including thermal, heat transfer, structural, stress, vibration, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Design and support vacuum systems and high-voltage mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, and validation testing.
• Lead design reviews and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other engineering risk assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs.
• Ensure engineering documentation complies with GD&T and industry drafting standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on engineering projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
• Strong experience designing vacuum systems and high-voltage mechanical devices or assemblies.
• Advanced proficiency with Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience releasing mechanical parts and assemblies into production.
• Hands‑on experience performing tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and engineering risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, structural mechanics, and mechanical system design.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the semiconductor or capital equipment industry.
• Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Experience leading product development projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
