Job summary

EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions, seeks an Applications Engineer for the Energy Systems group in Reading, PA. You will interact with customers, engineering, marketing, sales and suppliers to provide product support and ensure designs meet expectations.

Responsibilities include handling technical inquiries daily, drafting with AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and generating BOMs for new kits. This role requires collaboration across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in related engineering field or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in a related engineering role; Electromechanical is desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of standby power equipment design, industry standards and quality procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong MS Office knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Support internal and external customers with engineering, technical information and installation information.
• Understand standards (IEEE, ASCE, etc) as they relate to customer requirements.
• Process custom sales orders.
• Draft support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Create BOMs for new kits and batteries in BaaN and SAP.
• Authorize / approve ECOs, drawings, and designs.
• Support Nuclear safety related projects.

Job Purpose

EnerSys has a dynamic job opportunity available for an Applications Engineer in the Energy Systems group located in our corporate office in Reading, PA. This individual will interact with customers, engineering, marketing, customer support, sales and suppliers to provide product support and ensure designs meet or exceed expectations. An integral part of this position is responding to daily technical inquiries received via phone calls and through a general mailbox.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support internal and external customers with engineering, technical information and installation information
• Understanding standards (IEEE, ASCE, etc) as they relate to customer requirements
• Processing custom sales orders
• Drafting support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Creating BOM's for new kits and batteries in BaaN and SAP
• Authorize / approve ECO's, drawings, and designs
• Support Nuclear safety related projects
