Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a seasoned engineering leader for the Detroit Powertrain Test Center. You will supervise union staff, develop procedures, and oversee the setup, testing, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical test systems, ensuring quality and budget adherence.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with global product teams to meet technical specs and KPI targets, including safety and 5S compliance. This role is on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• 1-2 years of project leadership
• 7-10 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of diesel engine performance testing and test cell equipment
• Proficient in technical reports and procedures
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a global environment

Responsibilities

• Support operations and testing for conventional and alternative powertrains.
• Develop continuous improvement initiatives and tools.
• Oversee engineering projects, timelines, and budgets.
• Evaluate investments in technology and equipment for test center performance.
• Assist in scheduling, overtime, and labor alignment with DTNA policies.
• Ensure safety procedures and 5S in all activities.
• Collaborate with product teams and lab support to meet KPIs.
