Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Senior Powertrain Test Engineer to lead the Detroit Powertrain Test Center staff in validating conventional diesel and alternative powertrain components. You will direct fabrication, installation, operation and maintenance of test cells, ensuring tests stay within budget and meet standards.

The role involves coordinating a team of UAW 412 technicians, applying engineering principles, and driving continuous improvement across performance operations.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 1–2 years of project leadership experience.
• 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Knowledge of diesel engine performance testing, test cell setup, and data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and test equipment.
• Ability to work in a global environment with diverse teams.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, processes, methods and tools.
• Create and oversee engineering projects, timelines and assist with budgets.
• Research and recommend investments to enhance test center performance.
• Reduce downtime by diagnosing and addressing component failures.
• Ensure safety procedures and 5S principles are followed in operations.
• Collaborate with product teams to meet specifications and cost targets.
