Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Drafter / Engineering Technician to support advanced defense engineering programs in Virginia. You will develop detailed 2D/3D CAD models, create manufacturing drawings, and maintain documentation for hardware development in a structured environment.

The role requires SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD proficiency, GD&T expertise, and the ability to read engineering specs. Onsite work in King George, VA with security clearance to Secret level preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven drafting or engineering technician experience in defense or similar hardware programs.
• Ability to produce mechanical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Experience with CAD software and GD&T principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specs and standards.
• Familiarity with configuration management and document control.

Responsabilités

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings with tolerances and materials.
• Apply GD&T for design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Maintain/update technical drawings through design, testing, and production.
• Generate complete drawing packages to support prototypes and production.
