Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to serve as the Mechanical Discipline Lead for capital projects in the chemical/petrochemical sector. You will own the mechanical scope, coordinate design and execution, and ensure technical integrity across the project lifecycle, acting as the single point of accountability for the mechanical discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years leading the mechanical discipline within the chemical or petrochemical manufacturing industry.
• 5+ years project engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Define the mechanical scope and deliverables for each project phase.
• Establish applicable codes, standards, and design requirements with regulatory and safety compliance.
• Specify static and rotating equipment and materials of construction.
• Review specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, models and other deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership to mechanical teams and EPC partners.
• Coordinate with the Company Project Manager and EPC Project Manager for scope, priorities, interfaces, quality, and schedule.
• Identify mechanical risks early and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop and implement standards, procedures, and templates to improve quality and consistency.
• Make sound project-level mechanical decisions with limited supervision.
