Job summary

KFI Engineers is a leader in facility infrastructure design with a strong culture of collaboration. The Mechanical Designer III will produce AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit drawings, create construction documents, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines on complex projects.

The role emphasizes independent design work, mentoring junior designers, and contributing to project management while handling multiple technologies and field data collection as needed.

Qualifications

• AAS Degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience in mechanical design or related field.
• Experience in central boiler and/or chiller plants required but will consider one or more of the following: Agribusiness process plants, Facility manufacturing, Food Manufacturing / Clean Systems, Underground tunnel distribution systems, Mechanical equipment / skid design.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design mechanical systems for assigned projects.
• General Arrangement Drawings and P&ID preparation.
• Creation of 3D models and piping isometric drawings.
• Coordinate project design with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior designers and manage small projects independently.
