Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Designer to support our Architecture and Engineering unit. You will design and draft mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver construction documents aligned with codes and client needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 3+ years' experience in building mechanical design, and familiarity with BIM tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 3+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
• EIT preferred, not required.
• Revit, MS Office required, AutoCAD a plus
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product

Responsibilities

• Assist with design tasks and reports under the direction of Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings.
• Assist in maintaining task budgets.
• Coordinate and assist with addenda, RFI's and change orders.
• Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Assist senior staff with the project approval process.
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.
