Job summary

IMEG Corp in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead design efforts on moderate to complex projects, acting as project manager or lead designer, guiding clients and engineers. You will design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, perform analyses, provide technical reports, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in building design consulting; 8+ preferred, or 11+ in construction.
• Strong proficiency in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and generate technical reports.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate effectively.
• Provide in-process design reviews and project correspondence.
• Ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards and client needs.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical training as needed.
• Stay current with industry trends and innovations in mechanical engineering.
• Prioritize safety and manage potential risks in mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project interviews and presentations.
