Job summary

Actalent seeks a Sr Mechanical Designer in Phoenix, AZ to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, including base-build and tool installation projects.

With 5+ years of experience, you will use AutoCAD/Revit and collaborate across disciplines to deliver constructible solutions. The role offers hybrid on-site work Tue/Thu, with a standard 9-hour day and flexible start times.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for mechanical design and drafting.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor projects, including tool installation.
• Ability to coordinate with process, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Experience with mechanical calculations for airflow, pressure drop, and equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs, layouts, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Prepare comprehensive mechanical plans including piping layouts, HVAC, and utility routing.
• Support semiconductor facility projects including tool installation and base-build infrastructure design.
• Coordinate designs with process, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Review project requirements to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specs.
• Assist with field verification, site walks, and construction coordination.
• Perform or support mechanical engineering calculations (airflow, pressure drop, equipment sizing).
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve project execution.
• Maintain project schedules and deliver high-quality drawing packages on time.
• Collaborate to improve design standards, workflows, and documentation quality.
