Job summary

Arena Staffing, partnering with a growing semiconductor and advanced technology organization in the Phoenix area, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across large-scale projects.

The role covers system calculations, equipment sizing, HVAC and utility design, cross-discipline coordination, client and contractor communication, and startup activities, with stamping authority and Arizona PE license required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Active Arizona Professional Engineer license with stamping authority.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.
• Hands-on HVAC, piping, exhaust, and related building systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for BIM coordination.
• Experience supporting projects from design through startup and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through startup and commissioning.
• Develop system calculations, equipment sizing, and utility analyses.
• Design HVAC systems, AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps and piping.
• Coordinate mechanical with electrical, structural, controls, and other disciplines.
• Lead technical discussions with clients, contractors, vendors and teams.
• Review RFIs, submittals, changes, and field conditions for sound resolutions.
• Support site walks, field observations, and startup activities.
• Apply QA/QC to identify constructability issues and risks.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers through reviews.
