Job summary

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, Engineers & Planners, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform engineering calculations and layout/designs in accordance with policies and standards.

The candidate should exercise judgment with minimal supervision and may supervise others. The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience or an associate degree with 5 years of HVAC/Plumbing design experience under a PE.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 3 years of experience is required. EIT preferable.
• Or an associate degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in the design of HVAC and/or Plumbing systems under the supervision of a Professional Engineer required.

Responsibilities

• Attend preliminary job meetings and help evaluate scope of work.
• Independently prepare or direct the preparation of system layout, detail drawings, schematics and specifications with minimum supervision.
• Perform calculations and design engineering systems.
• Provide technical information and assistance to project engineer or team leader; evaluate feasibility of systems or equipment.
• Assist in final plan checking and respond to RFIs and code comments with AHJ as needed.
• Coordinate design work with other disciplines and review shop drawings for conformance.
• Perform job site inspections and ensure field installations meet plans and specs.
