Job summary

Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GET) seeks a Mechanical Designer to support LANL on‑site in Santa Fe, NM. The role focuses on checking design definitions for the first new weapon system in over 30 years, utilizing Creo CAD, GD&T, and MBD to ensure accuracy and producibility.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians, lead design reviews, and mentor staff as needed, all while complying with NSE standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 8+ years of directly related mechanical design experience.
• Strong Creo 3D CAD experience and producibility focus for nuclear security projects.
• MBD (Model-Based Definition) and GD&T proficiency required.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 standards (Y14.5-2009, Y14.41) and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design Creo models and drawings to meet requirements.
• Guide design iterations with cross‑functional teams.
• Mentor junior staff on MBD and GD&T concepts.
• Perform tolerance and stack analyses to ensure conformance.
• Ensure producibility and alignment with design standards for NSE.
