Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead complex, multidisciplinary mechanical design for large-scale projects in Austin, Texas. You will develop Revit models, manage BIM coordination, and guide junior designers from schematic design through construction.

You will apply mechanical codes, run calculations, create P&IDs and flow schematics, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of progressive mechanical design experience, including senior designer level.
• Experience leading BIM efforts on large-scale projects.
• Experience across multiple market sectors.
• Experience from schematic design through construction administration.
• Technical degree, diploma, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and BIM efforts on multiple large-scale projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop Revit models and publish coordinated models for construction.
• Perform basic engineering calculations (pressure drop, flow, pump head).
• Create P&IDs and flow schematics for engineering reviews.
• Lead BIM coordination to resolve clashes and maintain tolerances.
• Support construction administration, including shop drawings.
