Duration: 4-Month Contract with Possibility of extension

We’re looking for a highly experienced Mechanical Designer – Piping (SR 3) to join our team for a 4-month onsite project at a major facility in Wilsonville, AL.

In this role, you'll contribute your deep knowledge of mechanical piping systems to support critical retrofit, environmental, and next-gen energy projects. You'll collaborate closely with engineers and multi-disciplinary teams, leading design efforts and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop 3D piping and equipment designs for large-scale industrial projects
• Create 2D orthographic and isometric drawings, P&IDs, and pipe support layouts
• Review and develop general arrangements
• Lead technical teams and work closely with engineers of various disciplines
• Conduct field data collection and produce material take-offs
• Select appropriate piping materials, valves, and components
• Provide construction support and drawing checks as needed

What You Bring:

• 20+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical piping system design
• Strong background in power generation or heavy industrial facility projects
• Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (AutoPLANT and/or AVEVA preferred)
• Solid understanding of piping codes, construction practices, and material selection
• Experience producing P&IDs, isometrics, and pipe support details
• Ability to manage multiple large projects independently
• Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills
