Job summary

Qualifications

• 7–10 years hands-on mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA or Creo (Pro/ENGINEER).
• Experience taking designs from concept through drawings and fabrication.
• Strong GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• Experience with high-temperature processing equipment or vacuum systems.
• Willingness to travel to Wichita, KS.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D mechanical design of reactors, annealing systems, furnaces, and related equipment using CATIA or Creo.
• Develop detailed assemblies, BOMs, and GD&T-toleranced designs.
• Take designs from concept through manufacturing, collaborating with machine shops and vendors.
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to improve performance, cost, and production efficiency.
• Support design and development of high-temperature systems for AlN crystal growth and AlON coating processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment and improve reactor designs.
• Contribute to advanced hardware development for space-related applications, considering launch loads and thermal cycling.
• Use thermal simulation or CFD tools to validate designs.
