Job summary

Maverick Power seeks aSenior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-growing team in Phoenix. You will design and validate power distribution equipment, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to deliver high-quality solutions for customers worldwide.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of mechanical design experience, strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and familiarity with BOMs, drawings, and testing plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years mechanical design experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
• Manufacturing experience regarding BOMs, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plans.
• Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
• Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs that meet customer requirements.
• Design electrical enclosures meeting applicable UL, ANSI, IEEE, etc. safety standards.
• Create bills of materials, specify parts, work with internal and external manufacturing.
• Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
• Work with 3rd party labs to test and analyze data.
• Act as point of contact with other Mavericks and outside engineering firms.
• Determine deliverable due dates and hold to the schedule.
• Lead interaction with other functions and locations to determine optimum product/process solutions.
