Job summary

You will drive design activities with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers while owning DFMEA/PFMEA and ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with SolidWorks, GD&T, and FEA is essential, as is collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of mechanical product development experience.
  • Experience leading high-volume molded part designs through tooling, validation, and ramp-up.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic part design, polymer selection, mold tooling fundamentals, gate/flow considerations, shrink/warp, and cosmetic requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consumable product development from concept to tooling release, validation, and production launch.
  • Coordinate design activities across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Own DFMEA and PFMEA to ensure robust designs meeting performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external molders and tooling suppliers to optimize manufacturability, cost, yield, and cycle time.
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques (DOE, root-cause analysis) to resolve design and process issues.
  • Create CAD models and drawings (SolidWorks) including GD&T to support global manufacturing.
  • Lead design verification and validation planning and execution; analyze results and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to sustain existing consumable products, including quality escalations and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design and integration of electro-mechanical sub-systems as needed.
