Job summary

Nordson EFD is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development and industrialization of high‑volume plastic consumables for precision fluid dispensing. You will drive from concept to production, delivering robust, manufacturable products at scale.

You will apply strong engineering fundamentals, manage risk with formal DFMEA/PFMEA, and collaborate with molders, tooling suppliers and cross‑functional teams to optimize cost, yield and cycle time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical product development focusing on injection-molded plastics.
• Experience guiding designs from concept through tooling and ramp‑up.
• Strong knowledge of plastic part design, gate/flow, shrink/warp, GD&T.
• Proven DFMEA ownership and disciplined change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and industrialization of plastic consumables.
• Coordinate design activities across manufacturing, quality, supply chain & suppliers.
• Own DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk mitigation to meet performance/quality targets.
• Collaborate with molders and tooling suppliers to optimize manufacturability.
• Apply DOE, root-cause analysis and problem‑solving to issues.
• Create CAD models/drawings with GD&T to support global production.
• Lead verification/validation planning and execution; drive corrective actions.
