Job summary

RENK America, located in Camby, IN, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems for test equipment. You will work with global teams to meet performance, reliability, and cost targets, using Siemens NX for 3D layouts and contributing to mechanical-to-electrical/software integration.

The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, prototype testing, and maintaining detailed technical documentation, with collaboration across engineers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6 years of related experience, or Master's with 4 years.
• Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse team environments.
• 3D design with Siemens NX.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Create designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxes in 3D with Siemens NX.
• Experience with Teamcenter is a plus.
• Design of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Calculation and selection of machine elements and hydraulic components.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software systems.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clarity.
• Conduct prototypes, testing, and validation to ensure product functionality and performance.
• Identify and resolve mechanical design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Participate in project planning, including defining scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Support sales team during the proposal phase with technical expertise.
• Strong interest in hands-on assembly work and building their own design.
• Prior experience in quality is a plus.
