Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Engineer I, Mechanical to join the Modernization Team on a hybrid basis in Fairfield, OH or North Haven, CT. The role focuses on low and medium voltage power distribution equipment design, including switchgear and switchboards.

You will collaborate with local and remote teams, develop BOMs, create engineering reports, and support project delivery while traveling up to 20-30% per month and occasionally working 2-3 days remotely after acclimation.

Qualifications

• 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Design, preferably in electromechanical field.
• Must be able to travel up to 20-30% (3-6 days) per month as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Create designs for low voltage & medium voltage switchgear or switchboard assemblies/systems.
• Coordinate with engineering and plant teams to develop project solutions.
• Develop Bills of Material based on new product designs.
