Job summary

AtmosZero, Loveland, CO, is building Boiler 2.0, a modular heat-pump steam generator that uses electricity and air. The engineer will turn proven architectures into production-ready CAD layouts, detailing packaging, interfaces, and serviceability while enabling scalable manufacturing.

The role emphasizes DFMA, cost reduction, and collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing teams to deliver supplier-ready design packages for repeatable production in a startup setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline required.
• Strong command of mechanical design fundamentals and experience with complex 3D assemblies.
• Experience translating requirements into production-ready drawings, BOMs, and controlled releases.
• Ability to perform first-principles calculations for loads, thermal expansion, and tolerances.
• Experience working with suppliers and fabricators in a startup or fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated 3D CAD layouts for modular heat-pump systems, including placement, piping, frames, and enclosures.
• Translate system requirements into production-ready parts, assemblies, drawings, BOMs, and controlled releases.
• Own mechanical interfaces among heat exchangers, compressors, valves, and packaging components.
• Lead DFMA and cost-down efforts to reduce part count and manufacturing cost.
