Job summary

AtmosZero, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Engineer III / Senior levels to advance production‑ready compressor hardware for modular steam heat pumps. You will own rotating‑assembly workstreams, translate system requirements, and drive cost‑down and supplier collaboration.

The role emphasizes turbomachinery fundamentals, testing, and cross‑functional execution in a startup‑like atmosphere in Loveland, CO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, analyzing, testing, or troubleshooting compressors or turbomachinery.
• Ability to work with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience developing test plans, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Startup environment experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop production‑intent compressor hardware for high‑temperature industrial heat‑pump applications.
• Own technical workstreams across rotating assembly: impellers, shafts, bearings, seals, housings, motors.
• Translate requirements into operating maps, specs, and validation criteria.
• Lead cost‑down efforts to improve manufacturability, reliability, and lead time.
• Define instrumentation, test plans, and acceptance criteria for validation.
