Job summary

Swan EndoSurgical in Canton, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own electro-mechanical subsystems for a next-generation surgical robotic platform. Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required with 3+ years in medical devices.
• Experience taking subsystems from concept through verification and manufacturing transfer.
• Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks) and GD&T expertise.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 design controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of electro-mechanical subsystems for a surgical robotic platform.
• Design plastic and polymer components with proper draft, wall thickness, and molding considerations.
• Perform tolerance analysis and dimensional stack-ups across interfaces.
• Select materials for manufacturability and sterilization compatibility.
• Develop supplier and contract manufacturer relationships and process development for molding and machining.
• Build prototypes, execute tests, and lead design verification activities.
• Create DHF documentation including requirements, risk inputs, drawings, and specifications.
• Support usability studies with end users to refine product design.
