Job summary

Oracle is seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer to independently create and refine mechanical systems, enclosures, and packaging for data-center and cloud products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, manufacturability, and timely delivery from prototype to production.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency (ProE, SolidWorks), thermal design strategies, and rigorous testing using CFD/FEA tools to validate designs against performance goals.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical systems, enclosures, and packaging with emphasis on reliability and manufacturability.
• Ability to review materials for mechanical strength, identify failure points, and drive design improvements.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams including operations and suppliers to transition from prototype to production.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops electronic parts, board layout, mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging with emphasis on reliability and manufacturability.
• Contributes to thermal cooling strategies and mechanical architectures for server generations from feasibility to production.
• Uses CAD tools to develop 3D models and detailed mechanical designs with cross-functional coordination.
• Assesses mechanical strength with stress and FEA analyses and addresses failures.
