Job summary

Hydrasearch, a proud affiliate of The Dixon Group, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Stevensville, MD to lead the design and lifecycle of fluid-transfer components and mechanical hardware for demanding maritime, aerospace, and defense applications.

You will create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, apply GD&T, support prototyping and testing, and drive design through production, collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility in mechanical design, product development or manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to work with manufacturing personnel, suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Strong problem-solving and clear communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation; fundamentals in statics, tolerances and manufacturing methods.
• Sound engineering decisions balancing performance, quality, cost and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex product development and engineering projects from requirements through validation, production release and lifecycle support.
• Design and improve mechanical components and assemblies, create 3D CAD models and drawings, apply GD&T, support prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and production teams to troubleshoot issues and drive process improvements.
• Improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, cost and production efficiency, and manage engineering changes.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to communicate requirements and maintain lifecycle management.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and drafters and support design reviews.
