Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace US LLC in Aguadilla, PR seeks an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer (Fan and Compressor Mechanical) to design, analyze, simulate and test turbomachinery components for gas turbine engines. The role starts onsite for 90 days, then transitions to a hybrid schedule with 15% travel.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in turbomachinery design/analysis and ANSYS FEA, plus fluent English, to support existing products and new developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM).
• 3+ years of combined experience in mechanical design and analysis of turbomachinery.
• 3+ years of experience in Finite Element Analysis with ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Mechanical.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Design rotating and static turbomachinery components such as rotors, stators, blades and impellers.
• Perform modal, vibration, deflection, fatigue and thermal analyses using FEA.
• Support testing and data reduction/analysis across lifecycle stages (rig, development, production).
• Generate documentation capturing results and findings from design to test.
• Develop and present engineering artifacts during design reviews.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to process and tool improvements.
