Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design and validation for the next data center hardware module or chassis. You will address structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, tolerances, documentation, and alignment with existing product families.

You will create Creo 3D models and drawings for prototyping and manufacturing, run thermal simulations, design heat sinks, and coordinate with ECAD, CM, and lab testing teams.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data centers is preferred.
• Experience designing sheet metal parts using tooling guidelines.
• Experience designing plastic parts for cosmetic and non-cosmetic uses.
• Experience with Creo (3D CAD) is a plus.
• Experience with Creo Simulate (Mechanica) is a plus.
• Experience with thermal simulation and/or air flow testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with Windchill is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate the next module or chassis for data center switches.
• Create 3D models and drawings for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Manage peer and cross-functional design reviews.
• Structure BOMs and release changes using Agile/PLM tools.
• Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and heat sink design.
• Coordinate with ECAD, CM, and lab testing teams.
• Travel to Asia and North America as required.
