Job summary

Arista Networks seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and validation of next-generation data center hardware, addressing cooling, EMI, manufacturability, tolerances, and documentation with a cross-functional team. This is an on-site role in Santa Clara, CA; relocation may be required.

A BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Creo experience, plus thermal simulation knowledge, are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for computer/network equipment in data centers.
• Experience designing sheetmetal parts using tooling guidelines.
• Experience designing plastic parts for cosmetic and non-cosmetic uses.
• Creo experience; Mechanica/Simulate and thermal analysis a plus.
• Familiarity with Windchill or similar PLM is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and validation of next-generation data center hardware.
• Address cooling, EMI, manufacturability, tolerances, and documentation.
• Create 3D models and drawings; provide BOM and ECAD handoffs.
• Coordinate peer and cross-functional design reviews and TRLs.
• Support thermal simulations and air-flow testing; iterate designs.
• Work with CM, electrical, and PCB teams to resolve issues.
• Travel to Asia and North America as required.
