Job summary

Arista Networks in Roseville, CA seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of the next module or chassis for high-port data-center switches. You will create robust mechanical solutions, address cooling and EMC requirements, and provide CAD models and BOMs for prototyping and manufacturing.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, design reviews, and exposure to ECO/BOM/Deviation processes. Some travel to suppliers may be required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data centers.
• Experience with ECO, BOM and Deviation processes (Agile a plus).
• Experience using ProEngineer (PTC Creo) is a plus.
• Experience with thermal simulation and air flow testing is a plus.
• Experience with liquid cooling systems is a plus.
• Experience designing sheet metal parts using tooling guidelines.
• Ability to lift weight up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of the next module or chassis for data-center switches.
• Create structures, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, and cost designs.
• Produce BOMs, release changes using Agile PLM; manage product lifecycle.
• Provide 3D MCAD models for thermal simulations and validation.
• Coordinate with ECAD and suppliers to address DFM concerns.
• Collaborate with CM and suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Travel to suppliers as needed to troubleshoot issues or expedite builds.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews and design audits.
