Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for custom robotic cells and machine architecture in Brown Deer, WI. 1st shift, 100% onsite, direct-hire with base salary up to $120,000/year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include leading ground-up machine architecture, SolidWorks large assemblies, high-speed pick-and-place, hydraulics/pneumatics, and project leadership.

Qualifications

• BSME or 5–10 years of verifiable ground-up custom equipment design experience in heavy machinery or high-speed automation.
• Expert fluency modeling large assemblies, managing configurations, and drafting production-ready drawings in SolidWorks.
• Experience in project management and maintaining schedules & budgets, with a solid tenure history.
• US citizen or Green Card holder residing within a driving radius of Brown Deer, WI.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design integrity and engineering accuracy for high-speed automated machinery and robotic work cells.
• Develop concepts and collaborate with Project Managers to brainstorm cost-effective, high-performance automated solutions.
• Break down complex design scopes into milestones, guiding internal detailers/designers and coordinating with external fabrication partners.
• Integrate fluid power and drive systems, selecting hydraulics, pneumatics, and servo systems as needed.
• Conduct early-stage design reviews to identify and mitigate safety hazards, pinch points, and ergonomic issues.
• Serve as technical contact for global clients while managing BOM releases and resolving assembly floor issues in real time.
