DoorDash Labs in Oakland, CA seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Closures to own the architecture, design, and deployment of closure systems for our autonomous delivery vehicle. You will collaborate across vehicle integration, reliability, and manufacturing to ensure durable, scalable access mechanisms.

6+ years in automotive or robotics closure design, expertise in hinges, latches, actuators, and environmental sealing; strong CAD (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA); experience with high‑volume

Qualifications

6+ years in automotive/robotics closure design from concept to production.
Experience with hinges, latches, actuators, linkages, sealing.
Design for high-volume manufacturing with sheet metal, castings, molding.

Responsibilities

Own architecture, design and deployment of closure systems.
Collaborate with vehicle integration, reliability and manufacturing teams.
Develop robust interfaces and validate with simulations and tests.
