Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Staff Closures Engineer to own the closures architecture for the vehicle, specializing in doors, latches, hinges, actuators, seals, and glazing. You will interface with body, EE, firmware, manufacturing, and service as a hands-on architect and leader.

You will personally own critical closures components through concept, DFMEA, sourcing, tooling, validation, and launch, releasing production-quality CAD with GD&T and maintaining the design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a technical field and extensive mechanical/vehicle closures experience.
• Proven ownership of a closures system at architecture level and full vehicle development cycle.

Responsibilities

• Own the closures architecture and interfaces within the vehicle.
• Lead design through concept, sourcing, validation, and launch with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with suppliers across multiple domains.
