Job summary

Solenis is seeking a Mechanical & Design Engineer to provide mechanical engineering and design support for capital projects and chemical manufacturing operations. You will perform detailed analyses, develop equipment specifications, and collaborate with project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable project execution.

The role requires independent work, including remote work up to 50% travel, and demands strong problem-solving skills, documentation, and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in specialty chemicals.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing equipment specifications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience working from 3D models.
• Working knowledge of ANSI, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API and other standards.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical engineering analysis, calculations, design and sketches for CapEx projects and plant support.
• Develop and review mechanical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Review and approve key engineering drawings, calculations and field documents.
• Develop equipment specifications for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Provide technical direction to Designers, Drafters, Engineers, PMs, contractors and plant personnel.
• Lead/mechanics design packages from concept through construction.
