Job summary

Molex, a Koch company and leading supplier of connectors, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own automotive antenna product design from concept to launch. You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs and drive cross‑functional reviews with customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical product design, NX CAD expertise, and hands-on experience with molding, die casting and elastomer materials used in electronic packaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design.
• Experience using NX or equivalent 3D CAD for mechanical design.
• Experience from concept through design, validation and manufacturing handoff.
• Hands-on with injection molding, aluminum die casting, and elastomer materials for electronic packaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development from concept through manufacturing handoff, translating customer requirements into robust, manufacturable product designs.
• Serve as a customer-facing technical design partner, influencing design direction and leading technical design reviews with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional partners.
• Mentor and support team members to strengthen design practices, problem-solving, and engineering knowledge.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using NX CAD and apply solid design principles throughout development.
• Use FEA and analytical methods to evaluate structural, thermal, and vibration performance and optimize designs before tooling.
• Analyze test results, perform root-cause analysis of failures, and apply statistical tolerance analysis to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Communicate analysis and design decisions through reports, presentations and cross-functional reviews.
• Travel up to 10% to customer and internal locations (Mexico and other U.S. sites) for engagement and reviews.
