Job summary

RTX’s ESTO group seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support production and engineering goals at the West Palm Beach site in Florida. The role emphasizes production support for commercial and military products, quality notifications, corrective actions, engineering changes, cost reduction, and producibility improvements.

Collaboration spans operations, quality, procurement, SMEs, and suppliers to drive root-cause solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, production support, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead corrective-action activities associated with Quality Notifications (QNs), cost reduction, and producibility initiatives, driving issues from root-cause investigation through implementation and closure.
• Develop Class II engineering change packages using Pro-Cert methodology and data-driven decision-making to improve quality, cost, and product/process producibility.
• Lead Engineering First Piece Reviews at suppliers, Cost of Poor Quality and production improvement initiatives, identify process waste, and proactively eliminate recurring QNs and repeat analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, procurement, engineering SMEs, outsource teams, and suppliers to develop and implement product and process improvements while strengthening technical execution.
• Prepare and present technical content and program status to CIPTs, CSE/ESTO management, and Program Management, while capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement into the product development cycle.
