Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery in the Milwaukee area is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Development. You will lead design and development of innovative products, drive verification plans, and ensure performance, quality and reliability from concept through production.

The role requires 7+ years in product development engineering, strong 3D CAD/FEA skills, and proven cross-functional leadership. Master’s degree is preferred and LabVIEW/MATLAB/CFD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product development engineering experience.
• Strong mechanical design and analysis skills, including 3D CAD, FEA, material selection, DFM/DFA.
• Deep verification and testing experience with test plans/specifications and lab/certification coordination.
• Proven technical project leadership and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales and customers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - New Product Development - $110,000 - $125,000 + 6% Bonus

Keys to this role:

• 7+ years of product development engineering experience with a strong track record of taking products from concept through design, testing, and production.
• Strong mechanical design & analysis skills, including 3D CAD, FEA, material selection, DFM/DFA, and solving complex technical problems.
• Deep verification & testing experience, including developing test plans/specifications and working with internal/external labs and certification bodies.
• Proven technical project leadership, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and drive complex engineering projects to completion.
• Strong cross-functional communicator and problem solver, able to work effectively with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and customers to improve product performance, reliability, and cost.

Product Development and Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and development of new products, as well as improvements to existing products, ensuring alignment with technical, market, and customer requirements.
• Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of designs, including performance, quality, reliability, and verification.
• Apply sound engineering principles to troubleshoot complex system issues and improve product designs.

Verification and Testing

• Develop, execute, and document verification test plans to confirm products meet design, regulatory, and customer specifications.
• Prepare or oversee the development of test specifications used by quality and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate testing activities with internal and external laboratories, including certification bodies (e.g., UL, CE, NSF, FM, Intrinsic Safety).

Design and Engineering Excellence

• Utilize 3D modeling and FEA tools to evaluate and refine designs.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes that support product performance and durability, particularly in demanding environments.
• Ensure designs meet Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks through structured design and analysis approaches.

Project and Team Leadership

• Lead technical execution of cross-functional projects, ensuring milestones are achieved within established timelines and budgets.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering staff as needed.
• Contribute to the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies and product concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in product development
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and FEA tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects to successful completion
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work across functions and organizational levels

Preferred:

• Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or CFD
• Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies (Green Belt or higher)
• Experience integrating electronic components into mechanical systems
