Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong CAD proficiency across multiple platforms and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience leading mechanical design from concept through production and prototyping.
  • Proficiency in prototypes, testing/validation, and engineering calculations.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills for multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Serve as the Mechanical Engineering technical lead on projects from concept through production, providing strategic direction and technical oversight.
  • Conduct engineering analysis, design reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to optimize product performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into complete product designs.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and documentation using industry-standard CAD software.
  • Guide prototype development, testing, validation, and design iteration to ensure products meet performance and quality objectives.
  • Select appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and components while balancing technical requirements, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to junior engineers through design reviews, project guidance, and professional development.
  • Drive project execution by developing technical approaches, providing accurate work estimates, identifying risks, and communicating project status to internal teams and clients.
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting technical solutions and building strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise during proposal development, project scoping, and client discussions.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes, design methodologies, and best practices within the mechanical engineering team.

The Engineering Department at Kinetic Vision is expanding its product development capabilities and is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative products across a wide variety of industries, guiding projects from initial concept through production. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and serve as a trusted technical leader to deliver high-quality solutions that exceed client expectations.

A Senior Mechanical Engineer possesses extensive expertise in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing processes, prototyping, engineering analysis, and project execution. This individual provides technical leadership, develops innovative engineering solutions, mentors team members, and partners closely with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Advanced CAD experience in SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo/ProENGINEER, and/or Solid Edge.
  • Extensive experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
  • Strong background in new product development, engineering consulting, or product realization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design of complex mechanical systems and intricate mechanisms.
  • Experience with prototype fabrication, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with engineering calculations, simulations, and design validation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams while mentoring and developing engineers.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, client-facing, and project planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while adapting to changing project requirements and schedules.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, along with 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. We will also consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, technical expertise, training, and work experience.
