Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – PE

Jacksonville, FL| $135,000 – $155,000

The Opportunity

A nationally recognized design-build firm with over $1B in active federal construction projects is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of mechanical and plumbing engineering design across multiple regions. This is a high-impact role supporting projects for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army — from initial surveying and planning through full RFP design.

You'll work on a hybrid schedule out of Jacksonville, FL, contributing to a portfolio that spans multiple states, Guantanamo Bay, and Puerto Rico.

What You'll Do

• Lead mechanical and plumbing engineering design on federal and DoD construction projects
• Ensure designs comply with U.S. military branch standards across all project phases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-track design-build environment
• Apply sustainable design principles and energy code requirements throughout project execution

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $135,000 – $155,000, commensurate with experience

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with an HVAC and plumbing focus
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 10+ years of HVAC/plumbing design experience within a consulting firm
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and 55
• Familiarity with California Title 24 Energy Code
• Hands-on experience with BIM, Revit, and/or AutoCAD
• Background in sustainable design practices

Preferred Qualifications

• LEED AP certification
• Design-Build or alternative project delivery experience
• Prior work on government or DoD projects
