Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking an onsite Data Center Mechanical Construction Lead in Memphis, TN, with relocation possible for multiple US sites. You will oversee large-scale HVAC, chilled water, piping, pumps, and fire protection systems, directing crews and contractors to meet exacting quality and schedule requirements.

You will manage detailed field logs, collaborate with electrical and civil trades, and ensure compliance with stringent safety standards while delivering reliable, 24/7 data center

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing mechanical construction teams on large-scale or mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate mechanical installations including chilled water piping, condenser systems, HVAC equipment, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, ductwork, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire suppression systems for SpaceXAI Data Centers.
• Manage and schedule mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and on-site crews to deliver milestones on time and to SpaceXAI's quality standards.
• Ensure all contractors adhere to mechanical scope, delivering high-integrity cooling and process systems for uptime and reliability.
• Monitor daily progress of mechanical construction, maintaining logs, red-line drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Develop and enforce aggressive construction schedules to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Champion and enforce SpaceXAI's safety program, building a zero-incident culture around heavy equipment and elevated work.
• Supervise foremen and crews, fostering teamwork and accountability in a mission-critical environment.
• Resolve on-site challenges — material delays, conflicts, sequencing, and coordination with electrical/civil trades — ensuring system reliability and code compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with local regulations and SpaceXAI's quality standards.
• Prepare and present progress reports, metrics, and risk updates to senior leadership.
