Job summary

FST Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a senior commissioning engineer to lead data center projects from design through execution, ensuring performance, reliability, and precision across the full lifecycle.

You will evaluate HVAC systems, controls and automation, witness and functional testing, review design documents, manage schedules and budgets, mentor junior engineers, and engage clients to ensure successful results on site.

Qualifications

• Degree in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of commissioning engineering experience.
• 3+ years of data center experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle of a data center build from design through execution.
• Execute functional and witness testing and system validation.
• Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Evaluate HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps and automation systems; troubleshoot issues.
• Review design documentation and communicate findings to clients and contractors.
• Lead meetings, build client relationships, and mentor junior engineers.
• Complete reports and manage time and expenses; travel to project sites as needed.

WhatYou willDo

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle of a data center build to include L1-L5
• Execute functional testing, witness testing, and system validation
• Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectations

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

• Evaluate HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, and automation systems
• Troubleshoot system performance issues
• Review design documentation

Client Engagement

• Lead meetings and communicate findings
• Build relationships with clients and contractors

Operational Contributions

• Complete reports and manage time and expenses

Team Development

• Mentor junior engineers and support training

What You Bring

Core Qualifications

• Degree in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+years experience in commissioning engineering
• 3+ years of Data center experience required

Technical Capabilities

• Experience with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems
• Ability to read construction documents

Professional Skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in field environments and lift 30 lbs

Preferred

• EIT, CEM, OSHA 30, BIM experience, Facility Grid

Travel Requirements

Travel to project sites as needed based on project demands.

Base Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 depending on experience, comprehensive benefits, monthly per diem and mobilization support
