Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Senior Code Compliance Project Manager to lead complex code compliance projects for public and private sector clients. The role blends project management, technical oversight, and client interaction across field and office tasks.

The position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years in code compliance inspections or plan reviews, and PE certification or the ability to obtain it within six months.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of related experience in code compliance inspection of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months; Mechanical PE strongly preferred.
• DHCD & ICC Certifications are strongly preferred; if not current, ability to achieve certification within 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• Senior project management of code compliance projects, reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, and budgeting.
• Mentor and train junior building inspectors.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in code compliance and participate in industry activities.
• Oversee field and office code compliance inspections and higher-classification reviews with field oversight.
• Market code compliance consulting services to the public sector and manage client proposals, invoicing, and final reports.
