Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Mechanical Checker to verify engineering drawings, models, and documentation for complex mechanical systems. The role emphasizes accuracy, integrity of design data, and adherence to industry standards.

You will work in a hybrid environment with engineering teams, validating revisions, controlling documentation, and ensuring producibility while supporting CAD tools and data management processes.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Responsibilities

• Performs the preparation of required records for the release of design data and design documentation into the company data and documentation control systems.
• Provides design database and documentation checking responsibilities for revisions to existing design and design drawings and documentation.
• Under limited supervision and direction: Performs a wide variety of complex technical tasks which require knowledge of Engineering techniques and design theory to evaluate mechanical designs.
• Review Engineering models, and drawing prints, received from mechanical and/or electrical Engineering and other technical support personnel working on the project for compliance to internal and external industry standards.
