Job summary

Ektello in Houston, TX is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to design, coordinate and document electrical and mechanical building systems within a BIM environment using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years hands-on MEP coordination experience in a BIM environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (views, sheets, schedules, worksets, ACC work-sharing) and Navisworks; experience with Design Review; familiarity with ACC/SharePoint/FTP for drawing management.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to act as a crucial technical bridge between Project Managers, engineering teams, and external clients. In this role, you will design, coordinate, and document electrical and mechanical building systems within a 3D BIM environment utilizing Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. You will ensure all designs comply with strict technical specifications, building codes, and industry safety standards while maintaining accurate change control and executing seamless coordination with MEP subcontractors.

• BIM & Revit Mastery: Fluent in Autodesk Revit (creating/manipulating families, views, schedules, filters, worksets) and Navisworks for 3D layout, coordination, and clash detection.

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Design & Modeling: Design detailed layout plans, schematics, schedules, and deliverables for mechanical and electrical building systems using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks in an ACC/cloud work‑sharing environment.
• MEP Coordination & Issue Validation: Analyze project drawings, specifications, and phasing plans to identify design constraints. Validate MEP issues, suggest alternative design solutions, and resolve spatial conflicts among subcontractors.
• Documentation & Change Control: Maintain precise version control across all design files, drawings, and shop submittals. Incorporate client markups, change orders, and field as‑built data into final project deliverables.
• Material Procurement & Vendor Liaison: Interface with sales, clients, shop floor teams, and suppliers to review scopes, justify change orders, and order required materials.
• Site Visits & Troubleshooting: Participate in shop inspections and customer site visits to inspect physical installations, troubleshoot spatial/system issues, and ensure quality compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of hands‑on experience in an MEP coordination role operating within a BIM environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced fluency in Autodesk Revit (views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, worksets, ACC work‑sharing). Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk Design Review for 3D layout and clash coordination. Experience working with FTP, SharePoint, or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for drawing management.
  • Drawing & Data Integration: Expert ability to read 2D/3D plans and integrate spreadsheets, images, and text into Revit deliverables.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of heavy electrical power distribution systems.
  • Advanced drafting/CAD capabilities.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software systems such as Oracle and standard Microsoft Office suites.
