Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates mechanical systems in a 3D environment with MEP disciplines.
• Reviews mechanical product data and shop drawing submittals for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborates with the project team to reduce installation costs through efficient layout, alternative routing, and acceptable changes to drawings.
• Attends and/or facilitates MEP BIM project meetings as required.
• Provides accurate estimates for completion of assignments to supervisor.
• Communicates with Project Manager to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Documents directives and notifies supervisor of changes affecting completion of work.
• Generates 3D models for fabrication and field review and construction/shop drawings.
• Visits job sites when necessary to complete work assignments.

The Mechanical BIM Lead Detailer is responsible for the managing BIM effort for mechanical

projects using Autodesk software and BIM technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Manages and coordinates mechanical systems with a 3D environment with structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. This may include drawing mechanical systems or managing a detailing subcontractor from start to conclusion of the project.
• Reviews mechanical product data and shop drawing submittals for accuracy and completeness as it relates to dimensional data.
• Works in a collaborative manner with the project team to reduce cost of installation through efficient layout, alternate routing, and acceptable changes to contract drawings.
• Attends and/or facilitates MEP BIM project meetings as required.
• Provides accurate estimates for completion of assignments to his/her supervisor and is

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Technical ability to facilitate an MEP BIM meeting with sufficient mechanical systems knowledge to represent Comfort Systems
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 5 or more years background and knowledge of MEP Mechanical Construction (Preferred)
• Willingness to learn, improve and refine current skills is important.
• Able to read and understand contract drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Foreman’s level understanding of sheet metal and piping systems relative to commercial, industrial, and high rise residential construction.
• Experiences in AutoBid Trimble Sheetmetal and Mechanical.
• 5 or more years of experience using software such as REVIT and Navisworks (Preferred)
• Possess basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Proficient with 3D design, detailing, using Revit 2024 or later
