Powell Industries, Inc. seeks a Senior Assembler to oversee and coordinate the assembly of switchgear and breaker units, guiding a team to meet quality and production deadlines.

You will troubleshoot issues, train junior assemblers, and help improve procedures in a safety-focused environment. Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, performing in-process inspections, and leading ship-prep tasks while maintaining organized work areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure (fractions/decimals/metric).
• Must have basic English language skills, written and verbal.
• Knowledge of system software (Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts/drawings.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and safely use hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble mechanical components for switchgear or breakers.
• Perform maintenance and proper use of tools.
• In-process inspections to ensure quality per standard work instructions.
• Lead team members on ship prep tasks.
• Assist in training employees and sharing knowledge.
• Perform root cause analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies.
• Identify and track shortages.
• Assist in processing ship loose and communicate to QA/QC.
• Lead a small team to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform final in-process inspections and ensure quality.
• Promote safety culture and attend safety meetings.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
